Julie Kang
Founder & Director
Julie is founder of ToeToe ballet & Pilates. She majored in ballet in Korea. With her experience in participating in many performances and choreographing many works, she opened a ballet academy in LA and has been teaching children for about 10 years.
While running the academy, She performed many community performances over the years and won children's prizes in various competitions. She has been doing many activities, including holding regular presentations at the Wilshire EBell Theater.
In Julie's classes, students can expect a blend of rigorous technical training and creative choreography, all designed to challenge and inspire. Julie is not just a teacher, but a mentor and an inspiration to her students, encouraging them to reach their fullest potential both in dance and in life. Julie's passion for dancing is enough to spread to people.
Seokkyung Lee
Vice Director
Seokkyung has been an instructor at ToeToe Ballet since 2004, with over 20 years of experience in ballet, pointe, and lyrical dance. A graduate in ballet from Korea, she helped establish ToeToe Ballet in Los Angeles alongside Julie and has spent the past decade nurturing children’s health and emotional well-being through ballet.
She also teaches at preschools in Los Angeles and Orange County. After earning a Pilates certification to enhance posture and ballet technique, Seokkyung now offers specialized Pilates classes at ToeToe Pilates to further support her students’ growth.
Hye Mi Oh
Ballet Teacher
Oh Hye-mi majored in ballet in Korea and studied kinesiology at the same graduate school, followed by ballet classes and choreography for a number of children's musicals. After coming to the United States, I ran a ballet academy in New York and moved to Los Angeles. I came to LA and have been teaching children at Toto ballet Academy for eight years. Her goal is to make ballet a fun time for children to communicate without being tired and boring.
Jee Eun Lee
Ballet Teacher
Jee-eun LEE is a dedicated Dance Educator with a passion for teaching ballet through love.
Jee-eun earned BFA in Dance and completed MFA in Performing Arts Administration in Korea. Additional certificates in dance include the Julie’s English Ballet Certificate and Line Dance’s one. Throughout her career, Jee-eun has had the privilege of working as a soloist at the Seoul Ballet. For over 10 years, she has taught not only toddler ballet class and kids ballet class but also adult ballet class in Seoul and California.
As a Dance Educator, Jee-eun is passionate about teaching dance to students of all ages, helping them discover beauty & charm of ballet and build confidence & happiness through movement.
Paige v. Wilkey
Ballet Teacher
Paige Wilkey is a Los Angeles native who began dancing at the age of three. At 16, she moved to Boston to study with the Boston Ballet School, after attending prestigious summer programs on scholarship at American Ballet Theatre, Joffrey Ballet of Chicago, and Boston Ballet. Paige has danced professionally with Oregon Ballet Theatre and American Contemporary Ballet, dancing principal roles in a wide range of productions. She is currently a dancer with Los Angeles Ballet.
Paige has been teaching ballet and sharing her passion for dance for 12 years. With extensive experience teaching students of all ages as well as coaching private lessons and variations, Paige is excited to be a teacher at Toe Toe Ballet, where she looks forward to inspiring the next generation of dancers.
Karen Luu
Mordern Dance Teacher
Karen Luu is a first-generation Asian American choreographer based in the Bay Area, with a B.A. in Dance and B.S. in Kinesiology from San Francisco State University, she also holds a certification in Pre-Professional Health Sciences from Cal State East Bay. She has performed and taught extensively, including working with the Nhan Ho Project, Janice Garrett and choreographing award-winning pieces for the youth across the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2020, she created [in]justice, a project that was later set on SFSU’s University Dance Theatre, solidifying her as a collegiate lecturer and freelance artist. Karen founded Luu Dance Company and is currently pursuing her Doctor of Chiropractic degree to merge science and dance, supporting dancers’ health and performance.
Hye Jeon Jung
Art Teacher
Jung Hye-jeon is an art teacher at ToeToe Ballet and has been teaching art to children for 10 years since the beginning of ToeToe Ballet. After majoring art in Korea, she has taught children art for more than 30 years. She has helped her students enter art colleges and receive awards at art contests. She said that art helps children to express their thoughts and feelings. Her art classes guide students to show their creativity in art classes.
